First GTA 5 Online Previews & New Screenshots

Starting today is the first online previews for GTAV, coming in from around the world. All publications are giving their take on the same press demo that Game Informer wrote about last week, with some containing new screenshots. Stick right here as we update this article with links and all the new and interesting information to come from it throughout the day.

Information:
  • Underwater world (with underwater caves) and diving equipment confirmed.
  • Side-missions similar to Taxi, Ambulance and Vigilante will be back but "probably not identical to the ones in previous GTAs" because they wouldn't fit in with the 3 main character personalities, but the "three will have odd jobs to do".
  • Trevor will be the skilled helicopter pilot, Franklin the skilled driver and sniper, Michael the "smooth operator", skilled and versatile.
  • Franklin is looking for a mentor and he finds one in Mike after they meet during one of Franklin's repo man jobs.
  • Trevor is inspired by the typical GTA player that only roams around the game creating havoc, death and destruction.
  • Mission types will vary among "big and small events , explosive, infiltration, super spectacular, family issues, invasion, hostage recovery, heists and robberies. Plus classic GTA missions but updated and improved."
  • Cover mechanics have been greatly improved and cover will be very important in the gameplay.
  • About the economy, Dan Houser says: "You will be able to spend money to buy interesting and fun things like expensive toys. We are still working on the economy but it will be a strong element in the game and players will be eager to make money to spend money. Something along the lines of "I went through all of this to make all this money and now I'm going to spend it on this crazy item."
  • Dynamic music during missions (similar to games like L.A. Noire)
  • No co-op for single player missions, but co-op modes will be featured in multiplayer.
  • Big focus on multiplayer with a lot of content to keep players busy.
  • The song Radar Love was heard playing on the in-game radio.
  • Alamo Sea is the name of the Salton Sea like area.
  • Radial menu to select the 3 protagonists.
  • Switching in missions partially scripted - meaning, at times character switching will happen automatically.
  • In final part of a mission in the demo, the player can decide which character to use.
  • There are multiple different endings in the storyline which depend on the choices you made throughout the game.
  • The storyline takes around 25 hours to complete.
  • Map open from beginning, with the exception of some protected areas.
  • A certain amount of money will be needed to gain access to some missions.
  • There is a functioning ecosystem teeming with wildlife.

GTA 5 Release Date Confirmed

Monday, October 29, 2012

'GTA :Vice City' and 'San Andreas' may be seeing a release on the PS3 soon

Now is a great time to be a fan of the “Grand Theft Auto” series. From the upcoming reveal of the much-anticipated “GTA 5,” to the recent announcement of “GTA: Vice City” coming to Android and iOS devices, and now it seems that “GTA: San Andreas” and “Vice City” may be making their way to the PS3.
For those of you that remember the events leading up to the release of Grand Theft Auto 3 on the PS Store, you may know that the Entertainment Software Rating Board released the rating for the game on the PS3 prior to the official announcement for this title. Yesterday, on Oct. 28, it was found that the ESRB has now rated both “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” and “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” for release on the PlayStation 3.
Today marks the 10th anniversary for “GTA: Vice City,” so it may be possible that Rockstar Games is preparing to announce these two title for a PS3 release in celebration of this event. Please stay tuned for additional information as it develops around this event, as well as the upcoming reveal for “GTA 5.”

GTA 5 Artwork

Lots of info coming next month. Get ready.

For now, enjoy this first official artwork release from Grand Theft Auto V.

GTA 5 Release Date: Leaked Poster

GTA 5 poster could have been leaked, and in the poster it says the game will be released in spring 2013. The release date is completely logical when you think about all the events leading up to the GameInformer massive reveal next month.

The poster does not seem fake as it shows dogs too, which if you remember was shown in the first trailer of the game–near the beach. Looks legit? Yeah. Take it with a pinch of salt though.

Exciting times ahead, surely.

Earlier Rockstar released an artwork showing a heist scene featuring the main protagonist of the game. Again, he was shown in the first trailer as well. Here’s our analysis of that. It’s pretty in-depth.

Oh and the Rockstar newswire also mentioned that there is a lot of information coming out next month, and urged gamers to get ready.. They are referring to the Game Informer blowout which is scheduled for next month. The game was shown to media as well.

The magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Andy McNamara Tweeted about the game, and wrote: “In NYC, about to check out December’s cover game #GTAV”, with an accompanying picture of Rockstar’s logo.”

Check out the second poster below.
